Moxie Mingle – Profolk

Moxie Mingled at Profolk Space, Stockport Old Town

Our second Moxie of the twenty-twenties saw us head into Stockport’s beautiful and historic Old Town area. Owners Jamie and Tara have lovingly and, as property developers, expertly transformed the old den of debauchery, Yates’ Wine Lodge, into a stunning and state-of-the art co-working space, aimed at creatives. It’s always wonderful to see a once-unloved building with a somewhat chequered recent past restored to former glory, but with all mod cons…

Old Town itself is well worth a visit – we rarely think of beauty and architecture when thinking of Stockport, so you could be in for a very pleasant surprise. Even those of us who frequented the market back in the day almost certainly didn’t appreciate the buildings and architecture, the historic hostelries. Profolk Space is the epitome of everything that’s good about the Old Town. Modern and innovative but retaining character of the building. THIS is Stockport and exciting times are ahead for the area.

Minglers were equally impressed and fascinated by Profolk Space. Guided tours revealed private meeting rooms in subterranean chambers, safes, brick arches and bright, airy spaces with exquisite windows. Our room was plenty big enough for our large turn-out, with loads of new faces for Wendy to introduce (and plenty of regulars to chuckle as she did so…) The buzz of conversation soon filled the room and time flew. Everyone loved Profolk and everyone loved the genuinely informal, yet productive, brand of networking that Moxie delivers. No doubt a few fell newly in love with Stockport Old Town, too…

We’re back on home turf and heading to Cheadle Hulme for our next Moxie. Join us once more, on the 11 March, revisiting a past favourite. The lovely Angela of At the Kitchen will be looking after us – and, if past events At the Kitchen are anything to go by, she’ll be looking after us rather well. You won’t want to miss this one! Book now!

In the meantime, connect, follow, and LinkIn; keep the conversation going and we will see you soon.
