On Thursday, Moxie returned to one of our favourite venues to mingle, the Rose Room at the Alderley Edge Botanist. Always a pleasure, it was lovely to be greeted by Josie like old friends and to be welcomed into the delightful rustic interior before heading up to the idyllic first floor Rose Rooms. The space, although always beautiful and roomy, has been opened up somewhat and it’s easy to see how lovely it would be for all manner of functions.
We had many regulars, joined by an impressive number of new-to-Moxie faces – as well as a few old friends we’d not seen for a while – so numbers were impressive again. The friendly, refreshing informal and completely no-pressure conversation quickly filled the room, punctuated only by tea, coffee and pastries… Who said networking was a pain? Well, at Moxie, nobody – ever!
Despite the high numbers and new faces, Wendy was (almost) word perfect with the introductions, although the little stumbles and faux-pas are always good for (another) giggle… Chat and laughter continued after the break, with a new wave of purposeful ‘oh I must speak to her…’ connections made. That’s yet another beauty of Moxie – it’s the best of both worlds. Informal AND professional, friendly AND business-like.
However, things veer slightly further towards the informal/friendly form of networking next time, with our famous Jingle Mingle, at Cheadle Hulme’s Gusto. Leave the car at home and stay out for a drink – this is our Christmas ‘do’ and as such, an event not to be missed…
