On Wednesday, Moxie stayed local in the early evening sunshine and headed to Bramhall’s own Mercato Italiano. Owner Ged has done the most amazing job at Mercato – with the space, the food and his team. It’s welcoming and yet coolly contemporary – and the retractable roof over the outside area is a stroke of genius!
On arrival, we were shown upstairs (after helping our photographer Chelsea – ahem – tidy up her ‘props’ from her photoshoot of Mercato’s desserts and cocktails…) and what a revelation. Obviously, we knew that the Mercato Grill restaurant is based up there at weekends, but throughout the week, the area is available for private functions – it’s a fabulous, private space which can accommodate up to 150 people!
Greeted with a glass of bubbles, the networking got off to its usual buzzy, chatty start – helped along by the fizz, the Summery weather and the fact it was after work! Several new faces were made to feel very welcome (and indeed, to wonder why on earth they’d been so worried about networking!) before the nibbles began to arrive. That is to say, nibbles were what we were expecting. What we were actually treated to was a delicious surprise – mini burgers (complete with bacon, tomato and cheese. Little works of art on a plate), beautiful bruschetta and succulent chicken skewers. Delectable!
Wendy did a sterling job with introductions, and introduced Ged who spoke about Mercato and what they can offer – and their future plans. Exciting times are ahead, so watch this space (as well as I Love Bramhall’s!)
Thanks so much Kora from Brave Mouse Photography for your lovely words
“I would like to say thank you very much for having me at your event last night. It was simply fabulous!
Having attended so many different events over the 14 years of investment banking experience in London, coming to Moxie Mingle was such a refreshing experience. Being new to the area and also a start up business, I was a bit nervous at first. But You have this rare gift of making people feel welcome and at ease right from the start.
Your hosting techniques are to be admired and in my opinion the best moment of the event was to be introduced to the crowd in such casual way. The fact that you have remembered all the attendees names, businesses and their descriptions was very impressive and made me feel like I was amongst friends and family, not people I have only just met.
I am definitely planning on attending Moxie Mingle events in the future. There is simply no better way to meet local people and grow our businesses in a non-aggressive way.”
