Held at the Davenport Arms, locally know as the Thief’s Neck, Minglers were treated to a very warm welcome from Landlady Yvonne and her team for the first mingle of the “new term”.
Our children are back at school and we were all ready to meet some new contacts with one of our largest Mingles of the year held this time at the Davenport Arms. Quite unexpectedly it was a barmy evening and after being warmly received by Yvonne Hallworth the landlady in one of the pub’s private rooms we were treated to Buck’s Fizz, Fish Goujons, Chips and Mini Quiches whilst Mingling.
The Davenport Arms recently went through a refurbishment, upgrading their facilities but still retaining the charm of their Cheshire heritage, provide a perfect location for friendly drink, a tasty meal or a leisurely Sunday Lunch inside the pub or in their lovely beer garden with open views of the countryside.
We made great use of the facilities with some of us in the private room, some around the bar and then we all ended up outside as it was such a lovely warm evening, making the most of the great space they have at the Thief’s Neck.
By tradition we had our prize draw and the lucky recipient of our Champagne was Fiona Hull from Construction Q and Annelise Barrell from Arbonne International won a free ticket to the next Moxie Mingle event.
We had visitors from all over the County both new to Moxie Mingle and our usual loyal group. We were very pleased to welcome 13 new people who had never been to a Mingle before including Mary Robinson, Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Cheadle and Meena Sheth from “Greetings” in Bramhall Village Square.
The event was a great hit and Yvonne we would love to come back some time if you would have us!
This is what our Mingler’s tweeted after the event;
Yvonne Hallworth – Davenport Arms – “Lovely evening, hope you all enjoyed it”
